Center for Community and Public Health hosts lecture series

The Â鶹´«Ã½ Center for Community and Public Health is hosting a year-long lecture series for 2009-'10 focused on an examination of health care issues facing Americans today.

The lectures will be offered by full-time faculty members from across the University as well as accomplished scholars of these issues who are not members of the Â鶹´«Ã½community.

The lectures, which are free and open to the public, will be held at College of Pharmacy Hannaford Auditorium at UNE's Portland Campus. 

The first three lectures are:

State Approaches to Improving Health-care Access: Health Insurance Reform in Maine, Massachusetts and Vermont
Lecturer: Ronald Deprez, Ph.D., Executive Director of UNE's Center for Health Policy, Planning and Research

November 11, 2009, 3 p.m.
Examining the Complexity of Ambulatory Activity Patterns in Community-Dwelling Older Adults: Implications for Geriatrics and Gerontology
Lecturer: Dr. Jim Cavanaugh, Ph.D., Assistant Professor, Â鶹´«Ã½Department of Physical Therapy
