Josh Pahigian is the focus of USA Today and Christian Science Monitor stories

on June 13, 2012 interviewed 鶹ýDepartment of English adjunct faculty member Josh Pahigian for a story titled "Sliding into home with flavor: Ballparks go beyond dogs with regional favorites." Pahigian is the author of seven books on baseball, most recently co-author of the 2nd edition of The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip: A Fan's Guide to Major League Stadiums.

In addition, the reviewed The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip on June 22nd.

The USA Weekend story focuses on the trend by ballparks to feature local cuisine as well as staples such as hot dogs.  “Back in the day, ballparks offered menus limited to the basics, and those fans with more refined palates went out to dinner before or after the game. Now many fans arrive at the park early specifically to enjoy the many ballpark flavors,” Pahigian explains.

The Monitor writes: "Josh Pahigian and Kevin O’Connell have done what many baseball fans only dream about doing, and they’ve done it not just once, but twice. Their fantasy come true? Attending games at all 30 major-league stadiums, and doing it during one whirlwind season. Their travels form the basis of The Ultimate Baseball Road Trip, 2nd  Edition, a nearly 500-page guide that mixes detailed descriptions of each big-league ballpark, team histories, and reviews of food and baseball-related city attractions."

Pahigian's first novel is due for release by Maine-based Islandport Press in October 2012. It’s a thriller set in Old Orchard Beach, entitled Strangers on the Beach.
