Â鶹´«Ã½College of Pharmacy volunteers recognized in Biddeford Free Clinic annual report

Faculty and students from UNE’s College of Pharmacy were recognized for their volunteer service in the Biddeford Free Clinic (BFC) annual report. Their assistance continues to help provide medical care to uninsured community members in Maine.

Several faculty members took on leadership roles within the BFC: Erin Koepf, Pharm.D., BCACP, clinical assistant professor, coordinated the schedule to ensure the free clinic’s pharmacy was adequately staffed; Sarah Smith, Pharm.D., BCACP, assistant professor of Pharmacy, assisted the clinic to find free and affordable medications for its patients; and Matt Lacroix, Pharm.D., BCPS, assistant professor of Pharmacy, helped train the Â鶹´«Ã½student volunteers.

Other College of Pharmacy volunteers include: James Krebs, Pharm.D., director of Experiential Education; Kenneth McCall, Pharm.D., associate professor and chair of the Department of Pharmacy Practice; Lisa Pagnucco, Pharm.D., BCACP, assistant professor in the Department of Phamacy Practice; Hanh Duong ’16; Emily Erpenbeck ’16; Bora Lee ’15; Jane Lee ’16; Heather Mea ’15; Trong Ngyuen ’15; Lilia Son ’15; and Mirna Zhou ’15.

McCall commended his students’ and colleagues’ efforts by saying, “The volunteer work of these faculty and students truly exemplifies the motto, ‘We are neighbors helping neighbors’. Thanks to all of these volunteers for their outstanding community service!â€

Members from the Â鶹´«Ã½College of Pharmacy have served at the BFC every month since October of 2009.
