Cao Lab receives grant to attend immunology conference

Ling Cao, M.D., Ph.D., associate professor in the 鶹ý’s Department of Biomedical Sciences in the College of Osteopathic Medicine and member of the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences was selected as a recipient of a 2016 American Association of Immunology (AAI) Laboratory Travel Grant. 

Through the $2,500 grant, Cao and her graduate student Eliza Grlickova-Duzevik were able to attend the AAI Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington. This meeting is the world’s leading immunology conference, bringing together immunologists from more than 40 countries.

At the conference, Cao presented a poster titled, “Potential anti-nociceptive role of chemokine CXCL1 in peripheral nerve injury-induced neuropathic pain.” Grlickova-Duzevik presented a poster titled, “Calcitonin gene-related peptide’s antiviral role in LPBM5 infection of astrocytes and microglia.”
