鶹ýfaculty present at Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit
鶹ý Westbrook College of Health Professions Occupational Therapy Professor Regula (Regi) Robnett, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, and Professor Marilyn R. Gugliucci, M.A., Ph.D., director of 鶹ýGeriatrics Education and Research in the 鶹ýCollege of Osteopathic Medicine were co-presenters for an invited presentation at the Maine Council on Aging Wisdom Summit on September 20, 2017 at the Augusta Civic Center.
Robnett and Gugliucci’s presentation, titled “1st Tri-State Age Friendly University: Building Bridges of Knowledge, Engagement, and Support” was given in workshop format to garner discussion and open doors for partnerships as 鶹ýadvances its connections in the field of aging with older adults and communities.
鶹ýwas recently recognized as an Age Friendly University (AFU) by the international Age Friendly University Global Network, which highlights the role higher education plays in meeting the challenges and opportunities of an aging population. To receive this designation, 鶹ýdemonstrated the numerous ways that it engages older adults to participate in core institutional activities, including education and research.
