ā€˜WGANā€™ radio highlights UNEā€™s work in aging and geriatrics

Marilyn Gugilucci works with  Ā鶹“«Ć½COM student in the Learning by Living program

ā€œPositively Maine with Tory Ryden,ā€ a radio show on WGAN, aired an in-depth interview with Marilyn Gugliucci, M.A., Ph.D., director of geriatrics education and research at the Ā鶹“«Ć½ College of Osteopathic Medicine.

During the nearly 45-minute segment, Gugliucci discussed issues affecting Maineā€™s aging populationand the programs aimed at meeting those challenges through education of future health professionals. Ryden specifically asked about the Learning by Living nursing home immersion project and the 48-hour hospice home immersion project Gugliucci designed and implemented, which provide medical students with a firsthand experience of living as a patient or providing end of life care.
