Students Sarah Anaie (Dental Medicine, ’21) and Kelli Ehemann (Dental Medicine, ’21) recently set up a booth in Portland during National Night Out to provide visitors with free oral health supplies and information about services offered at the 鶹ýOral Health Center.

National Night Out occurs annually in neighborhoods across the country on the first Tuesday in August. The event is designed to bring communities and neighbors together for a celebration of the outdoors and the diverse cultures that make up our neighborhoods.

“We were so happy to be a part of National Night Out,” Anaie commented. “It was great to see the community coming together. We got to see the diverse cultures of Portland represented in awesome songs and dance.”

Anaie and Ehemann set up the booth as part of the 鶹ýStudent National Dental Association’s (鶹ýSNDA) partnership with the Portland Housing Authority.

Community engagement is a cornerstone of 鶹ýSNDA's mission.
