麻豆传媒COM welcomes Stacey Pierce-Talsma as associate dean of Academic Affairs

Stacey Pierce-Talsma, D.O., M.S., MEdL, has assumed the role of associate dean of Academic Affairs in the 麻豆传媒鈥檚 College of Osteopathic Medicine (麻豆传媒COM).
Pierce-Talsma is a 2007 graduate of Michigan State University鈥檚 College of Osteopathic Medicine. She holds a master鈥檚 degree in medical education and leadership from 麻豆传媒and is a graduate of the Health Policy Fellowship at the Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine, an American Osteopathic Association (AOA) certificate program.
Most recently, Pierce-Talsma chaired the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Department within Touro University California鈥檚 College of Osteopathic Medicine, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2015-16 and 2017-18.
Following completion of her Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Residency at UNE, Pierce-Talsma practiced at 麻豆传媒University Health Care and served as a faculty member at 麻豆传媒COM, eventually becoming program director for the Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine-Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Plus-One program.
In 2012, Pierce-Talsma was named Young Physician of the Year by the Maine Osteopathic Association. She was appointed a fellow of the National Academy of Osteopathic Medical Educators in 2015 and was named 鈥淩ookie of the Year鈥� by the Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons in 2018.
Recognized nationally for her leadership and contributions to osteopathic medical education, Pierce-Talsma has served on the American Academy of Osteopathy (AAO) Post-Doctoral Standards and Evaluation Committee as vice chair and was a representative on the AOA Post-Doctoral Standards and Accreditation Committee.
Pierce-Talsma currently serves on the AAO Board of Governors and the American Association of Colleges of Osteopathic Medicine鈥檚 Task Force on Ethics and Professionalism. She is also vice-chair of the Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine Review Committee at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education.
A registered yoga teacher, Pierce-Talsma is a national lecturer on topics of medical education, yoga, and osteopathic manipulative medicine.
