Twelve students from the 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Master of Science in Occupational Therapy (M.S.O.T.) Class of 2026 were recently inducted into Pi Theta Epsilon (PTE), the national honor society for occupational therapy students and alumni.

The society鈥檚 mission is to advance research and scholarship among occupational therapy students while promoting authentic and collaborative practice that ultimately benefits recipients of occupational therapy services, according to the American Occupational Therapy Foundation.

This year鈥檚 induction ceremony marked the 31st anniversary of the establishment of UNE鈥檚 Alpha Psi Chapter of PTE. Professor Emeritus Nancy MacRae, M.S., OTR/L, FAOTA, began the chapter in 1994 and gave an overview of the organization鈥檚 history at the event, held Nov. 13 in Alumni Hall on UNE鈥檚 Portland Campus for the Health Sciences.

Friends, family members, and supporters were also in attendance to celebrate the students鈥 achievements.

Kristin Winston, Ph.D., OTR/L, FAOTA, program director of occupational therapy at UNE, welcomed attendees, and Elizabeth Crampsey, Ed.D., M.S. OTR/L, BCPR, associate dean of Academic Affairs for the Westbrook College of Health Professions, was the featured speaker.

Carol Lambdin-Pattavina, O.T.D., M.S.O.T., OTR/L, CTP, FAOTA, associate professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy and current PTE faculty advisor, reminded inductees that induction into PTE serves as a calling to strive for excellence in all they do as representatives of the occupational therapy profession.

鈥淚nduction into Pi Theta Epsilon represents a calling,鈥 Pattavina remarked, adding, 鈥淎 calling to be and do better every day of your career. This is a very dedicated, innovative, and compassionate group of inductees, and I have no doubt, that is indeed what they will strive to do.鈥

Inducted into PTE were Evan Brohan, Macie Browne, Peyton Clark, Abbigail Fournier, Sara Grenier, Brianna Michaud-Nolan, Allison Morin, Gabriela Puentes, Jack Rogers, Alexis Tardy, Mackenzie Truman, and Julia White.
